Benefits of HealthCorps

The HealthCorps provides an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are interested in learning and in serving their community. Full-time HealthCorps members serve full-time for eleven (11) months (40 hours per week, with a minimum commitment of 1,700 hours), beginning in September and running through the end of July. In return, they receive a modest living allowance (approximately $12,000 annually), health insurance benefits, child care benefits, health-specific training, and unique opportunities for personal and professional development. After successfully completing their term of service, these Members receive an education award worth $4,725 that can be used for tuition at college/vocational school or to pay off qualified student loans.

Education Award-Only Members give at least 450 hours of service over the course of eleven months. In return, these Members receive an education award worth $1,250.00 that can be used for tuition at college / vocational school or to pay off qualified student loans.

Members have an opportunity to apply new skills and knowledge in the health care setting as well as in the community.
