Company: Curry Senior Center
Location: 333 Turk Street, San Franicsco, CA
Status: Part-time (10-15 hours)

Job Description:

Curry Senior Center, a Tenderloin based non-profit geriatric health and social services agency serving low-income seniors, seeks an experienced, well organized and self directed individual to support Quality Improvement activities.  The analyst will be responsible for the collection, entry, management, and reporting of QI health information utilizing web-based and online health information systems and client databases.  This is a part time job (10-15 hours) that has flexible scheduling within the 8-5 Monday-Friday work week.

Primary Responsibilities.  Reporting to the Medical Director, the data analyst will:

  • Take ownership and be responsible for the ongoing collection and entry of data into patient information systems and specialized QI database.
  • Run standard and create customized reports from information systems and databases.
  • Creates and run highly complex queries, exports and reports, as needed.
  • Design and conduct special projects- manipulate data sets in Excel or Access.
  • Ensure accuracy of results produced as a result of data analysis and identify opportunities to improve overall data quality and integrity.
  • Work with agency leadership and staff to solve problems and interpret data.

Minimum requirements:

  • Strong computer and database skills and literacy, preferably with health care data
  • Strong communication skills including writing ability
  • Ability to convey technical information effectively
  • Well organized, attentive to detail, have a good sense of humor and timeliness to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Advanced skills in Excels and/or Access
  • Enthusiastically interested to learn about Quality Improvement in Community Health Center settings,  health information, and be trained in information systems and databases
  • Able to take direction and work both independently and cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Willingness to report for duty in an emergency disaster 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous data related experience in a health care setting, including data entry,
  • Organizing and/or overseeing job related tasks completed by volunteers and interns

Compensation:  Salary competitive with other non-profit organizations providing similar services.  This is an hourly position without benefits.
