Please comment on the administration's proposed "Public Charge" expansions

Along with our many colleagues in the health and human service field, SFCCC stands strongly against the proposed expansion of “public charge” rules that the Administration released on 10-10-18. The change from consideration only of cash benefits to consideration of health, nutrition and housing assistance when immigrants are seeking to adjust their immigration status is contrary to good public health policy, the values of the country, and common sense. Along with our many colleagues, we will both encourage immigrants to continue to apply for benefits to which they are entitled AND to speak out against these rules. Since the Administration is required to respond to each comment, we are seeking to send as many official comments as possible on the impact of these proposed rules.

Please get in touch with us if you have questions or would like a presentation to your organization, Dlahn@sfccc.org.
