Help provide quality health services to homeless San Franciscans and their companion animals!
December is one of the most important months of the year for our organization. As the weather creates increased challenges for homeless residents, we are grateful for the holiday spirit of giving. The generous financial support of passionate people like you is the reason our Street Outreach Services (SOS) and Veterinary Street Outreach Services (Vet SOS) programs are able to continue their mission to break down the barriers that keep homeless people and their companion animals from the care they need and deserve.
SOS is a free mobile medical clinic for homeless San Franciscans that seeks out those who have long been disconnected from health services, provides on-the-spot urgent care, and connects patients to ongoing primary care so that chronic conditions - like heart disease and diabetes - can be managed effectively. Through our Vet SOS program, SOS offers free veterinary care to the companion animals of homeless San Franciscans as a creative way of linking their human guardians with health care services and support the human-animal bond.
In 2018, we’ve made a huge impact by distributing 3000+ hygiene kits, 4000+ pairs of socks, and giving care to 1000+ homeless San Franciscans. Furthermore, we have been able to make a difference in the lives of homeless San Franciscans’ companion animals by giving over 600 vaccinations, 550+ supplies, 500+ flea medications, and 50+ microchips.
We have even greater ambitions for 2019. Together, we can help more homeless individuals and their companion animals.
