#StopAsianHate Candlelight Vigil—April 9, 5pm PT/8pm ET
From REIMAGINE, INC.:
Asian American hate crimes are occurring at staggering numbers across the nation. According to the New York Times, there have been over 110 episodes since March 2020 in which there was clear evidence of race-based violence against Asian Americans, in addition to the devastating Atlanta shootings last month, which left 8 people dead, 6 of whom were Asian American women.
This Friday, April 9, at 5pm PT/8pm ET we are co-creating a Candlelight Vigil to honor those killed, their families, and stand in solidarity with the Asian American communities.
Please join over 1,000 early vigil registrants of all backgrounds and an inspiring line up of Asian American musicians, activists, artists, end-of-life doulas, and more:
David Henry Hwang, Tony-Award Winning Playwright (Aida, M. Butterfly, Tarzan, and Disney’s forthcoming Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Treya Lam, classically trained multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose music explores the Asian American experience of home
Eric Toda, a Reimagine board member who has recently used his platform as a top advertising executive to effectively inspire brands to get behind the #StopAsianHate movement, as seen in his AdWeek article
Holly Chan, UX Experience Designer, co-host of Reimagine’s Asian American Table Talk series, an event series aimed to adapt conversations about end-of-life to unique needs of Asian Americans
Elizabeth Wong, registered nurse, End of Life Doula, and co-host with Holly of Reimagine’s Table Talk series
Invite friends and family, grab your candle, and let’s cultivate a vision for a more inclusive and compassionate nation.
