On May 10, 2021, the FDA announced that they granted emergency authorization for use of the Pfizer vaccine to ages 12-15.  They had previously approved use of this vaccine for ages 16 and older.

To help families that may have some questions about vaccinating their children, the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) and SF Department of Children, Youth, and Their Families (DCYF) will be hosting a town hall on Wednesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. with San Francisco’s Health Officer Dr.Susan Philip; Dr. Lillian Brown, Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCSF - HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine; and Dr. Lee Atkinson-McEvoy, UCSF Division Chair of Pediatrics.
