SFCCC's Street Outreach Services (SOS) program is proud to assist San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) in reaching people experiencing homeless with COVID vaccines.

On April 6th, through the combined efforts of SFCCC & SFDPH, 50 vaccines were administered to the residents of one of San Francisco's temporary shelter-in-place locations in just a few hours.

SOS Program Manager, Carly Matsukuma, & SOS Outreach Worker, Ilse Gavino Vargas, did a wonderful job encouraging residents that hadn't already been vaccinated to get their vaccines that day.

SOS staff provided health education, patient escort, emotional support, and goodie bags- all of which were much appreciated- to residents who often expressed hesitancy about getting vaccinated but then decided to do so.

Thank you to the SOS team for this vital pandemic response effort and for working collaboratively to get the job done.

SOS hopes to continue his important work by bringing more vaccines to the streets soon!
